{"id":323,"date":"2008-10-20T09:58:32","date_gmt":"2008-10-20T14:58:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.danielgoepfrich.com\/listen-day-35-james\/"},"modified":"2022-10-14T19:18:05","modified_gmt":"2022-10-14T23:18:05","slug":"listen-day-35-james","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theologyisforeveryone.com\/listen-day-35-james\/","title":{"rendered":"Listen, Day 35: James"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Got the family back around the listening schedule for tonight again. <a href='https:\/\/primaxen.com\/3w1srwv\/'>\u0644\u0639\u0628\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u0643\u0627\u0632\u064a\u0646\u0648<\/a>  Not much discussion because nobody brought paper with them. <a href='https:\/\/blog.trankee.com.co\/trankee\/95573458\/'>\u0627\u0644\u0639\u0627\u0628 \u0628\u0648\u0643\u0631<\/a> <\/p>\n<p><strong>Saralynn:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The rich will disappear &#8211; sort of like is happening in the current economy?<\/li>\n<li>I have a hard time reconciling the connection of faith and prayer (chapter 5 and elsewhere &#8211; think &#8220;mustard seed and a mountain&#8221;) with command to pray in God&#8217;s will<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Dan&#8217;l:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=james%201:5&amp;version=46\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">God won&#8217;t correct us for asking for wisdom<\/a> &#8211; good thing, too, because we need a lot of it. <strong>I wonder if God is as disappointed in us as we are in our kids when they just don&#8217;t ask for help.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=james%201:13&amp;version=46\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Don&#8217;t blame God<\/a>&#8221; &#8211; probably a good thing to remember in general<\/li>\n<li>If you&#8217;re angry, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=james%201:20&amp;version=46\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">you can&#8217;t do God&#8217;s work<\/a>. This is something I need to remember more often<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=James%202:13;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Even in judgment, God is merciful<\/a>&#8221; &#8211; that&#8217;s not a concept we consider very often!<\/li>\n<li>Most of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=James%202-3;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">chapters 2 and 3 have a single theme<\/a>: <strong>Our actions are so important because that&#8217;s all the people around us can see<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>God never says, &#8220;Don&#8217;t make plans for the future.&#8221; He says, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=James%204:15;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Don&#8217;t make plans without me being in them<\/a>.&#8221; That&#8217;s a big difference!<\/li>\n<li>I hate waiting. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=James%205:7-11;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Patience<\/a> just takes too long.<\/li>\n<li>So are the &#8220;faith healers&#8221; right? <a href='https:\/\/projaeourem.pt\/si_pmt19\/site_g9\/63973653\/'>\u0645\u0648\u0642\u0639 888<\/a>  Are people sick just because <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=James%205:15;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">they don&#8217;t have enough faith<\/a>? Or our church doesn&#8217;t have enough faith? Or our church leaders don&#8217;t have enough faith? Or something else? <strong>Is James teaching that all sickness will be healed through prayer?
