{"id":321,"date":"2008-10-18T21:47:50","date_gmt":"2008-10-19T02:47:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.danielgoepfrich.com\/listen-day-33-titus-philemon-hebrews-1-6\/"},"modified":"2022-07-13T21:29:52","modified_gmt":"2022-07-14T01:29:52","slug":"listen-day-33-titus-philemon-hebrews-1-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theologyisforeveryone.com\/listen-day-33-titus-philemon-hebrews-1-6\/","title":{"rendered":"Listen, Day 33: Titus, Philemon, Hebrews 1-6"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We missed a couple of days listening as a family for various reasons, so here are just my thoughts as we get close to the end of our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oaktree.cc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">listening<\/a> schedule.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dan&#8217;l:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There&#8217;s that phrase &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=titus%201:3;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">at the proper time<\/a>&#8221; again. As much as I know God&#8217;s time is always proper, I hate the waiting and the not knowing. <a href='https:\/\/www.isnowpro.com\/2v6zrmuq5nw\/'>ingyen kock\u00e1s nyer\u0151g\u00e9pes j\u00e1t\u00e9kok<\/a> <\/li>\n<li>Have to say that I&#8217;m really disappointed that the readers inserted their opinion 4 out of 4 times on the marriage phrase. As in 1 Timothy 3 and 5, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=titus%201:6;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the CEV here says &#8220;faithful in marriage&#8221; even though the audio read it as &#8220;married only once&#8221;<\/a> again.<\/li>\n<li>Some people say that church leaders shouldn&#8217;t be business people; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=titus%201:7;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paul would disagree<\/a><\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s important to live so that people can&#8217;t insult <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Titus%202:5;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">God&#8217;s message<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Titus%202:8;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">his people<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Sometimes we have to be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Titus%203:1;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reminded to obey the government<\/a> (hopefully the election won&#8217;t require extra reminders!)<\/li>\n<li><strong>People like to be accepted; <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Titus%203:7;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Jesus made us acceptable to God<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li>I wonder how Philemon responded when he read <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Philemon;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paul&#8217;s letter<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Again, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=hebrews%202:4;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">miracles were to verify that the message was God&#8217;s and was true<\/a>; that verification is not necessary today in our part of the world.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Now this is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=hebrews%202:14-15;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bailout plan<\/a> I can live with!<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>I noticed that &#8220;keep the faith&#8221; and &#8220;hold onto the faith&#8221; show up a couple of times in chapters three and four.<\/li>\n<li>Two huge theological truths &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Hebrews%205:8;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jesus &#8220;had to suffer&#8221;<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Hebrews%205:9;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;suffering made him perfect&#8221;<\/a><\/li>\n<li>There is a lot that people don&#8217;t understand about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Hebrews%206:1-6;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the first few verses of Hebrews 6<\/a>.
