But still powerful. Here are some things that caught my attention in this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oaktree.cc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LISTENing<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The content of these two letters is amazing since <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=acts%2017:2-3&amp;version=46\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paul spent only about 3 weeks<\/a> with them. These are also the first two letters from Paul that we know of.<\/li>\n<li>Many preachers have discredited the Thessalonians&#8217; reception of Paul&#8217;s message because of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=acts%2017:11&amp;version=46\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Luke&#8217;s comment about the Bereans<\/a>. Based on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1%20thess%201:7-10;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">these comments<\/a>, though, I think Paul would disagree.<\/li>\n<li>What an interesting comment I&#8217;ve never seen before: &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1%20Thessalonians%202:16;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Jews have always gone too far with their sins.<\/a>&#8221; (Note that this is a religious remark, not an ethnic or racial remark. Paul was a Jew, too.)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Leaders find it an <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1%20Thessalonians%203:7-9;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>awesome thing<\/strong><\/a><strong> when their people get it; it energizes them<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Following Christ is more than just believing &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1%20Thessalonians%204:1-2;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">it&#8217;s obeying too<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Just like he did in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=colossians%204:5-6;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Colossians<\/a>, Paul lists a couple of things to remember in order to have a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1%20Thessalonians%204:11-12;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">good reputation with outsiders<\/a><\/li>\n<li>When we have a proper view of the end times, we will know without a doubt that &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1%20Thessalonians%205:9;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">God does not intend to punish us<\/a>&#8220;. Many who teach about the end times believe that Christ-followers from our age will have to suffer at least a little bit. I don&#8217;t see that in Scripture.<\/li>\n<li>How can you show respect and love for your leaders? <a href='https:\/\/uptodownblog.com\/cryv4h2pfu\/'>\u0627\u0641\u0636\u0644 \u0637\u0631\u064a\u0642\u0629 \u0644\u0644\u0631\u0628\u062d \u0641\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0631\u0648\u0644\u064a\u062a<\/a>  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1%20Thessalonians%205:12-13;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Try to get along with each other<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1%20Thessalonians%205:24;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>The one who chose you can be trusted<\/strong><\/a><strong>&#8221; &#8211; enough said<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Paul is consistently <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=2%20Thessalonians%201:10-12;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tying action together tightly with faith<\/a>. Like two sides of the same coin, you can&#8217;t have one without the other. It has to be both or neither.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=2%20Thessalonians%202:9-12;&amp;version=46;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Don&#8217;t miss this<\/a> &#8211; it&#8217;s the answer to a huge, widely-asked theological question. <strong>God doesn&#8217;t make people not believe, but when they choose to not believe, he does not hesitate to punish them as an example, so that others will choose to believe.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This was one of those short sections I keep talking about.
