Recently, because of the debate about homosexuality in our culture, the word \u201cabomination\u201d has resurfaced. In the context of this topic, we find the word in Leviticus 18:22 and Leviticus 20:13, as God\u2019s description of homosexual activity.<\/p>

\u201cYou must not have sexual intercourse with a male as one has sexual intercourse with a woman; it is a detestable act<\/strong>.\u201d<\/em> Leviticus 18:22<\/p>

\u201cIf a man has sexual intercourse with a male as one has sexual intercourse with a woman, the two of them have committed an abomination<\/strong>. They must be put to death; their blood guilt is on themselves.\u201d<\/em> Leviticus 20:13<\/p>

The Hebrew word is the same for both of those bolded words above \u2013 to`evah<\/em><\/strong> (\u05ea\u05bc\u05d5\u05b9\u05e2\u05b5\u05d1\u05b8\u05d4) \u2013 and it means \u201csomething abominable, detestable, offensive.\u201d<\/p>

However, while Leviticus is the first time this word is used to describe something God hates, it\u2019s certainly not the last. So what does God consider an abomination? Here\u2019s the entire list (each one uses the same Hebrew word, regardless of how various English Bibles translate it):<\/p>
