Since posting about maturity earlier this week<\/a> and reading and listening to comments on it, I’ve been thinking about it quite a bit – in fact, I can’t get it out of my mind.<\/p>\n

We use terms like “mature” and “maturity” to describe things that have reached their goal. ferret fleas ivermectin<\/a> For instance, if I were to buy a $50 bond, it would have a “maturity date” on it – the exact date in the future at which time it will be worth the full $50. Plugging it into the spiritual realm is not as simple. Paul defines “spiritual maturity” very specifically in Ephesians 4:<\/p>\n

And he [Jesus] gave the apostles, and the prophets, and the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for ministry work, so the body of Christ will be built up, until we all reach the the full faith and knowledge of the Son of God, [until we all reach] a mature person, [until we all reach] a measure of Christ’s full stature. Ephesians 4:11-13<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

These verses are intentionally layered, with each layer giving a deeper and clearer understanding of the ultimate goal:<\/p>\n
