It\u2019s January 1, 2011, and that got me thinking about the binary numeral system<\/a>. (As I\u2019m sure it did you, too, right?) In the binary system, any number can be represented by a series of 0\u2019s and 1\u2019s when written in a specific order.<\/p>

Maybe last October you heard or read people talking about October 10th being a \u201cbinary day\u201d. That\u2019s because the short date was written 10\/10\/10 \u2013 all ones and zeros. (There were others last year as well.) Today is the same \u2013 1\/1\/11 or 1\/01\/11. There are several more days this year that will fit the binary code:<\/p>
